Max Budget Conditions

Setting the maximum payout

Overview

Note: When a Max Budget is set, it begins counting from the moment it is set. For example, if you already paid out $100 from a Program, and you set the Max Budget to $50, it will still pay out another $50 until the threshold is reached. To end payout from a Rule or Program immediately, deactivate it.

Max Budget

Max Budget limits the total amount of awards that can be distributed as part of a program or rule. In effect, it restricts the operation of a rule or program based on the total value of awards issued.

You're able to define how you want the budget to be constrained. This can be done per user, per action, or over a time period (day, week, month, quarter). You can also specify a maximum total per time period per user (e.g., user per day, user per week, etc.).

For example, if you set the max payout to 100 for a rule that awards 10 points for each action, the rule will cease to execute once it has been executed 10 times.

As a reminder, program-level max budget constraints will override any constraints set at the rule-level.
